As the vice-president of the Dominican University of California Alumni Association, and on behalf of over 10,000 Dominican University alumni, it is my pleasure to officially congratulate you, the Class of 2009, on your graduation and welcome you into the Alumni Association.

Today is not about good-bye, but rather about how your relationship with Dominican continues.  You join a long line of people who have made and who are making a difference in the world from business leaders, scientists, artists and educators.  Our Dominican experiences, whether they are from today or from over 50 years ago, will continue to connect us.  We know that what happens here is special and weather you have been here for one year, two years, four years or even more.  What we experienced form a Dominican education has solidified our foundations and has prepared us to go out and face the challenges that tomorrow brings.  Look back upon your memories and accomplishments with satisfaction and pride, but, more importantly, look forward and beyond.

Keep Dominican in your heart.  Share your experiences and talents with the University, the students, and your fellow alumni.  The University and your fellow alumni have a vested interest in your success, and you in theirs.
